98 percent of people working in KENWA are HIV positive. Most of these people are volunteers whose contracts are short term while others are long term. These volunteers play various roles in KENWA’s Drop in Centres, which are as follows:

  • Cooking food for HIV positive people who are in most cases bedridden.
  • Visiting bedridden patients in hospitals and taking them to hospitals when referred.
  • Feeding HIV and AIDS patients and affected and infected children
  • Getting involved in roles plays as a way of interacting with PLHIVS. This includes drama, poetry, music, and puppetry
