Accelerating the Fight Against TB, Leprosy, and Lung Diseases
Our Goal
Kenwa Kenya NGO is dedicated to significantly reducing the burden of tuberculosis (TB), leprosy, and lung diseases in Kenya. Our primary goal is to deliver people-centered, universally accessible, acceptable, and affordable quality services to all affected individuals.
Our Approach
We employ a holistic and integrated approach to combat these diseases, ensuring that our services are both comprehensive and tailored to meet the unique needs of our communities.
Key Activities
Integrated TB-HIV Planning and Service Delivery
Joint TB-HIV Planning: We collaborate with healthcare providers and stakeholders to create and implement integrated plans that streamline the delivery of TB and HIV services. This ensures that patients receive coordinated care and support for both conditions.
Service Integration: By integrating TB and HIV services, we enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our healthcare delivery, reducing the time and effort required for patients to access care.
HIV Counseling and Testing for TB Patients
Comprehensive Counseling: We offer thorough HIV counseling to patients with presumptive and diagnosed TB, providing them with the necessary information and support to understand their health status and the importance of managing both conditions.
Accessible Testing: Our services include accessible HIV testing for TB patients, ensuring early detection and prompt initiation of appropriate treatments.
HIV Prevention Interventions
Preventive Measures: For patients with presumptive and diagnosed TB, we implement various HIV prevention interventions. These include education on safe practices, distribution of prevention materials, and other strategies aimed at reducing the risk of HIV transmission.
Community Outreach: We conduct outreach programs to educate communities about the link between TB and HIV, promoting preventive measures and encouraging early testing and treatment.
Co-Trimoxazole Preventive Therapy
Preventive Therapy: We provide co-trimoxazole preventive therapy (CPT) to TB patients living with HIV. This therapy helps prevent opportunistic infections and improves the overall health outcomes for co-infected patients.
Continuous Support: Our healthcare teams offer continuous monitoring and support to ensure adherence to CPT and other prescribed treatments, helping patients manage their conditions effectively.
Commitment to Quality and Accessibility
